Are you looking to replace your outside vent cap? There are a few things to consider to ensure that you fit the right vent covers. Your dryer vent should never have a screen at the end that can restrict or impede the lint escaping from inside to the outside. We always prefer to install a louvered type of vent cap as you can see exactly how the dryer vent system is working.
Dryer Vent Installation Done Right After 9 Years
We recently took challenge from a Milton homeowner whom needed to know where her dryer vent was located outside her home. 3 years in her 9 year old home, she’d just had the board in her dryer replaced and was told to check the dryer vent by the appliance technician. Basically the dryer had over heated and caused the board to malfunction. Normally a dryer would blow the thermal fuse or the heating element, this time the dryers control board went.
Our customers never thought lowering their utility bill could be this easy
Back in November we took a call from Mark from Oakville wanting to replace his dryer vent hose. The basement was finished with about 24 feet of white vinyl hose from the back of the dryer to the outside wall vent cap. White vinyl hose should not be used at all and nothing other than solid metal duct work should be used inside the ceiling and walls.
Does Your Dryer Have Balls? Yet Another Sign Your Dryer Vent is Clogged!
Never seen these before? Neither had we until we started cleaning dryers with our dryer vent cleaning service. These lint balls grow inside your dryer when the lint has no place else to go, or the vents are starting to clog so lint cannot escape as fast as it needs to! These cute squishy, round things are an accumulation of lint inside the baffles that are on your dryer drum slowly getting bigger and bigger like a snowball only not as cold!
