If your clothes are taking longer to dry, your laundry room feels hotter than normal, or your dryer seems to be working harder than it used to, you might assume it’s time for a new appliance.
In reality, the problem often isn’t the dryer at all.
It’s the dryer vent.
If you live in Welland and your dryer is taking forever to dry your laundry, there is a good chance your dryer vent is clogged. A blocked dryer vent creates a fire hazard, wastes energy, and puts unnecessary strain on your dryer. The tricky part is that many vents in Welland homes exit through the roof, and not every company is trained or equipped to clean them properly.
If your dryer is taking too long to dry clothes, the problem is often not the dryer itself, but a restricted or clogged dryer vent.
Many homeowners are told they need a new dryer, when in reality the appliance is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do — it just can’t breathe.
Dryer fires happen more than most people think in Ontario, we are not sure why there is very little awareness as to how important it is to carry out dryer duct cleaning, but it is what it is! One thing can be said for not recognizing lint build up in the dryer is that ones dryer and duct work looks the same now as it did when it was first installed.
