We see so many issues with badly installed dryer vents that it is unbelievable. The shoddy workmanship, lack of consideration for the safety of the family, not following code and failing to put proper roof vents are just some of the examples we see everyday. If these were cars we were looking at they would be recalled, how come no one seems to care about this is beyond us!
We recently took challenge from a Milton homeowner whom needed to know where her dryer vent was located outside her home. 3 years in her 9 year old home, she’d just had the board in her dryer replaced and was told to check the dryer vent by the appliance technician. Basically the dryer had over heated and caused the board to malfunction. Normally a dryer would blow the thermal fuse or the heating element, this time the dryers control board went.
We recently moved the location of the dryer vent in an old home in Hamilton. The old dryer vent was white vinyl going through the crawl space over 28 feet long, and was seriously clogged. The homeowner wanted a new dryer vent hole making closer to the laundry room and replace the vinyl duct with all metal dryer vent.
